X220t always blows fuse f1

Any time I travel with my X220T, even though it is turned off when I put it in my bag, by the time I get to the (bag just goes in my trunk for an hour drive) fuse f1 is blown and i have to replace the motherboard. Is this just a flawed design?

This will be the second one, but I have also only put it in a bag twice. I just replaced this mobo for that reason, and a few weeks later here I am again.

Well, I do think that if this laptop had a design fault that everyone who puts it in a bag for one hour ends up with a broken machine, then we would know. This would also be one of the most original and intricate design faults ever.

There may be something else at fault with your particular unit or power adapter or power grid that causes this repeated fault. What exactly does fuse F1 protect against? This can give you a direction of where to look for the fault.

It's the backlight fuse. The interesting part is I can take it to work (which I don't put it in a bag for, i just put it on the passenger seat) and it's fine, but 2 for 2 putting it in a bag on a trip and it blows f1. The weird thing it is it blown from the moment I first turn the computer on when arriving at the hotel, not plugged in, just battery.

Check if there is anything in that bag, that puts pressure on the lid.
Also, riding in the boot of a car is detrimental to the health of any laptop.
Put that bag on the backseat next time.

It did it again, this time in a different bag, and this time I placed the bag laptop-side up on the passenger seat.

Mobos for this are cheap, but I don't want to keep burning through them. I want to try replacing the fuse with a slow fuse. Anybody know what kind of fuse it needs for F1 on the X220t? I would just replace it with a 230, but it looks like the 230T screens were a fair bit worse than the 220T screens. I wish somebody still make a laptop/tablet where the screen pivots so the keys are covered in tablet mode

I have a vague suspicion that you have a bad LCD-cable.
It's worn out somewhere and touches/shorts against the frame/chassis/ground, every time you transport that machine.
