T25 Theme and other OS customizations

#1 Post by saperkus » Mon Oct 16, 2017 2:47 pm

I've a request. One of forums members was kind enough to share a T25 wallpaper, but Lenovo usually adds few more customizations to OS. Would be possible to share other parts?
If Lenovo always customize the same parts, then list below should cover all of them:

All wallpapers are stored in:

Code: Select all

C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper
Theme could be stored in either or both folders (it could be named like oem.theme):

Code: Select all

C:\Windows\Resources\Themes
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes
BrandImage could be located in "theme deploy folder". You can get its location from theme file (just open it in notepad). Below an example:

Code: Select all

BrandImage=%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Lenovo\Themes\Lenovowel.png
Lenovo sometimes don't delete "deploy folder", which contains theme deploy scripts. In some of ThinkPad models, it's located in (same folder as BrandImage):

Code: Select all

%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Lenovo\Themes
It would be nice to have full content of this folder.

Windows registry (regedit) contains information about OEM and OEMLOGO. Information about them are stored in:

Code: Select all

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation
OEMLOGO location is stored in Windows registry. Usual location:

Code: Select all

"Logo"="C:\\Windows\\System32\\OEMLogo.bmp"
In case of power plans, I have noticed, that some devices have additional power plan, which really improve device's thermals (found it in some ThinkPad models). It's called "Lenovo Power Optimized". Would be possible to export it? Link to the guide.

You're welcome. :)

Here's the other stuff. The wallpaper I had in the other thread but here it is again, in case that is all that is desired...

http://wannerweb.ddns.net/Public/Photos ... kPad25.jpg (164 KB)

The Lenovo Theme folder does have the theme install batch file, as well as all the wallpapers. The entire folder, zipped, is here:

http://wannerweb.ddns.net/Public/Themes.zip (31.3 MB)

The OEM Information key and logo is here:

http://wannerweb.ddns.net/Public/OEMInformation.zip (2 KB)

There are no non-Windows default power plans installed. Aside from the trial of Office 2016 and Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion, I don't see anything else in the way of preload applications either. It's pretty lightweight.

Right now the upload pipe is pretty saturated as it's finishing an upload of recovery media that a member requested. So downloads from the above links will be slow for the next hour or two. Especially if a bunch of people suddenly hit it at once!

I've also got the T25 recovery USB drive...

Yes very kind of "theterminator93".

Personally I love that Richard Sapper quote as it so true. I think David Hill understood Sapper but I am not sure Lenovo upper management ever did. First sign of this is when they dropped the highlights off the trackpoint buttons.

Thank you very much theterminator93! I really appreciate it.
Deployment folder have wallpaper from T25, but also wallpapers from Signature Edition and X1, which I hadn't had. :)
Moreover this folder also contains theme file named Microsoft Signature 2 (was there another one?), which doesn't have any references to T25 Anniversary wallpaper. There might be another version in one of two folders, which I've described in my previous post, so could you please check them?

I'd like to ask whether the above links are working; I think they aren't but I'd still like copies for my TP25 which I refreshed to a clean version.
:D :) Please! I'll be extremely grateful!
Modified T470 to look like TP Anniversary Edition; TP 25; E550; T540p; wants a T420 or P1 to see what's good.

Welcome to the Forum.

Last I checked (about 2 minutes ago), all those links worked.
Maybe you have a browser that doesn't like some websites?

The software I use for my web server is old and finicky; I actually just rebooted my machine that hosts it this morning (because I was having issues RDP'ing into it) and that probably fixed it. :)

Many thanks!!! This is a great forum! - I can feel it already - if only Sony VAIOs had such a place years back...
Only VAIO and TP had battery charging thresholds; VAIO had DSD audio chips, and that's about it. Oh, and VA panels with 100% AdobeRGB - only few days ago Dell finally did that with their monitors. But TP never improved their sound or screens. I found my E550 had better specs from Conexant than the Realtek on T480p etc.

Anyway, looks exciting!
