Found a IBM 3705

This afternoon i am going to pick up an IBM 3705 ... never been this excited in my life picking up a piece of old hardware. And its for the price of a tank of gas.

So here's the question? What can you do with it.

If you don't have the rest of the IBM mainframe to go along with it, Id hook it up to an Arduino and control something with it. Idk, lights in your house, a thermonuclear missle in your basement, little stuff.

Its wired up so random lights go on and off with the rotary knobs and and some buttons control an FM radio inside.

Haha, that sounds like the cool old tech that was 'broken' in my house and so a seven year old me and a few years younger sibling would play around with.

If you have kids / ever put this around your kids you should just make sure they don't start biting it. I'm thinking of a broken film camera that was lying around the house, but I bit the heck out of that thing when I was bored.

Anyways, enjoy the overpowered illumination light-show radio.
