'New' W530 on the way

#1 Post by westsailor » Mon Dec 17, 2018 7:47 pm

Well, refurb anyway.

I've been needing to upgrade my W500 so I've been looking at W530's because they're the last model to incorporate an express card slot (needed for a better sound card) and retained the classic UltraBay design. I just won an BIN offer on eBay ($450) for a really clean W530 with a I7-3940XM processor, FHD display (1920x1080), Nvidia K2000, 256Gb SSD, 16 Gb ram (not sure if 2 or 4 slot)

While I researched which of the W series Thinkpad I wanted the one resource I failed to peruse is the Thinkpad forum (slaps forehead). However, from what I'm now reading I don't think I'll be disappointed. Merry Christmas to me!

Wow, nice choice ;)

2.5" SSD is the economical sweet spot nowadays, best "bang" for the buck for SSD performance...
Wishing you FUN with your 'new' ThinkPad W530 !

Merry Christmas to you too ;)
