Avoid the X61t SXGA+, it has bubbling issues

I might not mind any bubbling issue. I just need something for school and really my only concern is resolution. Well, I want something that can stay powered on through a 3 hour class and preferably not too big and heavy.

You might also want to look at an X200s or X201s with 1440x900 screen.
They are a lot lighter than the X6x.

Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.
The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

Not sure what you're talking about. X240 is the best Thinkpad, especially the trackpad and single ram slot. Add a 768p tn screen and it's amazingThinkpad4by3 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 9:37 amNo no no that's George(ajkula66) who I wouldn't see the day. WARNING! Better put some heavy mattresses on the floor first, then read on.
/blasphemy/ I currently have THREE X240 series machines /end blasphemy/.
All three have had their clunkpad replaced with X250 touchpad+buttons
#1 - original X240 with i5 CPU and TN HD
#2 - original X240s with i7 CPU and IPS HD
#3 - X240s i7 motherboard in standard X240 case, with IPS FHD
.... has the docking holes in the bottom "closed up"
.... has 1 internal battery and 2 external (hot-swappable) 72W batteries, which gives me over 15 hours!
.... is now my travel/bed laptop of choice (over my X230).

In all seriousness, though, I see that OP has an X200s in his/hers signature...so I guess that an additional 4:3 system is a must...

Re: WTB: 1400x1050 X60/X61(T) or 1600x1200 T60(p)
I am starting school soon and want a dedicated school laptop. My X200s is my main laptop and happily running Debian 7 and I'd rather not mess with it since it's been extremely reliable for the 6 years I've had it. I probably will want something more up to date operating system wise for school, so I am just going to buy a separate laptop. I have T43p too, but the GPU idles at like 90C so that probably should never be powered on again until I fix whatever is causing it to run so hot. I've never gotten my 240X to load an OS, but that thing simply lacks resolution anyway.ajkula66 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 10:53 amThis just made my day...RealBlackStuff wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 10:42 amWARNING! Re: WTB: 1400x1050 X60/X61(T) or 1600x1200 T60(p)
Re-paste and undervolt the CPU, undervolt the GPU if needed. That should take care of the excessive heat.
Having said that, a T43p is not a viable daily driver in A.D. 2019 IMO. And both the T60p and X6xT are getting to be too sluggish for that title as well.
Nevertheless, happy shopping.
