New screen for my X260 help

#1 Post by patsue90 » Thu Mar 14, 2019 4:02 pm

Hi everyone. This is my first post here:) Looking forward to learning more about thinkpads. I just purchased a like new 260X from ebay and although I love the laptop, I would like to find out sources and how to upgrade the screen. I don't even know where to look for the real deal. Can I get some help on sourcing a better screen? The one I have seems to be the basic low end screen. I would like some kind of an HD screen and install it myself unless it is too hard.

Thanks!

Patrick

Look for the X260 Hardware Manual (HMM) and parts list (frubom).
You'll want the FHD (1920x1080) screen 00HN899.

That's an 00HN883.
Its LCD-connector sits in the middle, different from others, that sit more to the side.
You'd also need all sorts of different parts.
Read up on all the dirty here: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comme ... lcd_cable/

Like I said, you'll need 00HN899, which would be a straight swap.
