Found this to modify the T530 wifi-whitelist: https://photonicsguy.ca/projects/t530 to use an Intel AC-7260 wifi card.
The above should most likely also work with T430 and W530.
And I want to do the same for putting an AC-7260 in my X230.
The procedure should be almost identical.
Once done, I'll report in the X230-forum.

afaik it works with any card you want to install if you have the vendor id and the product id.
