[RESOLVED] X41 and Windows 2000

Moved from Windows XP to Windows 2000 (SP4 + Rollup) on my X41.
Got problem with DirectDraw and Direct3D.
DXDIAG pass test with DirectX 7, but fails with DX8 and 9.

Used the latest video drivers from intel's website.

Does anyone tried to get this laptop work with Win2K with full power?

Did you install this driver? I would like you to confirm that you are using this driver, just be on the right track.

The update rollup that you had mentioned, was it Update Rollup 1 (KB891861v2), or was it some unofficial update rollup for Windows 2000?

Sure, I installed all avaliabe drivers from the x41 driver section of the thinkpads.com.
Official Rollup 1 and Unofficial 2nd.

DXDIAG shows error on "Direct3D 8: Error on step 6: HRESULT = 0x80004005"

Found fully working driver for Windows 2000.
6.14.10.4466a from x41t driver section works perfect.

Just wondering what were your reason to install win2000 over win xp ?

Just nostalgia on classic UI view (XP classic theme dows not have that charm of perfectness), pixelated icons and login sound. Whish to set up Windows 98/Me, but it will not work I assume.
I use it only for a typing and a bit of old games.
