WTB: Daylight LED kit for x61s
I've been trying to contact Xiphmont (email, here, reddit) for an x61 Daylight LED kit for my x61s but have not had any luck. Does anyone know how to reach him or have said Daylight LED kit for sale? Thank you!

I have a new SXGA+ screen ready to install. This is the only thing holding me back!

Don't want to be a pessimist here, but I was trying for almost a year without success.
I had just one reply from his side in the begging, he was asking to wait for a mail from his side, which of course never happened...

Re: WTB: Daylight LED kit for x61s
I have just found a LED controller for X61. Can't find a LED strip, but getting one is drastically easier than getting the controller
You can PM me anytime for this one. I will dig for the LED strip as well.

Re: WTB: Daylight LED kit for x61s
bump.
Still looking for a daylight kit for my still-to-be-installed AFFS screen. It doesn't sound like there are any chinese kits of acceptable quality. I've looked into having boards made from Monty's schematics and assembling a few kits myself, but the LEDs can't be sourced in a quantity small enough
Looks like I'm a year or two too late to the X61 game... Missed the boat on both LED kits and X62/63 boards

I'd just roll the dice on this Chinese one. It's certainly better than not having it.TrackpointLoveAffair wrote:bump.

I have a cable from i.thinkpad (the author of the conversion guide) that I never used if anyone needs one for the SXGA+ mod.

Re: WTB: Daylight LED kit for x61s
Did it work? I bought a cheapo generic 12" LED backlight strip with generic LED inverter, but reused my CCFL inverter. It's a bit dim and pretty sure that's why. Think I'll have to desolder the CCFL inverter from the LED indicator board and solder on the LED inverter (without breaking it!)byritc wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2019 12:41 pmI'd just roll the dice on this Chinese one. Re: WTB: Daylight LED kit for x61s
I've been wondering 'bout same think. I've rebuild my X61 and made a frankenpad using best parts, but I'd also love to change CCFL for LED kit.
