FS: Stateside s30 from Bill's collection-unique demo

#1 Post by hwattys » Tue Jul 16, 2019 2:28 pm

The s30 was marketed in Asia only. It's a subcompact PIII600 with gorgeous piano black finish. I have a unique one from Bill Morrow's personal collection. It's a demo unit with a US keyboard.
256 megs Ram 60 gig 7200 rpm hard drive. Cisco 802.11b wireless and a gorgeous XGA 10.4 inch TFT display. The piano black top cover is flawless as it has been covered in plastic. There are very minor signs of use
at the corners of the palmrest and just the very beginnings of stickiness due to age. Little if any keyboard wear. A Xircom pcmcia ethernet adapter is included as is the AC adapter and the battery does not hold a charge. There are two fine horizontal lines
on the display as you can see in the pictures here:

Windows 2000 is installed with all drivers. I am looking for a replacement display [FRU 05K9937] and if someone has it I would be happy to install it or buy it from you.
Asking price $700 and there will never be another one of these.

That's a beautiful piece of machinery. Sadly about a factor of five outside my price range but that's quite pretty.

On a somewhat related note, I am also looking for one of these displays. The blue anodized metal underneath the black coating is very nice if your black coating is ruined like mine was. You can find the displays online, the model is TX26D20VC1CAA (the TX26D20VC1CAB should work too) and I think there's an 800x600 display from the 240 and friends that could also work.

Even though I'm thinning my collection, I'd trade my entire collection for one of those. LOL

I always wanted one...more than the 701C. One can dream though. Lol
