ThinkPads & Linux ... like apple pie & ice cream

#1 Post by Hacker117 » Thu Sep 19, 2019 12:36 am

Have an ancient IBM G40 (3.0 GHz, 2GB RAM) and a newer Lenovo ThinkPad x130e (1.65 GHz, 8 GB RAM) that have taken very well to Linux Mint XFCE v19.2 and Linux Mint Cinnamon 64 bit v19.2 respectively.
The G40 required a D-link g,n wireless pcmcia card I found in a junk box to pull in wifi. Linux amazingly had native support for the card.
Both units running amazingly well.
Everything working.

Welcome to the forum!

Great to hear that your G40 has taken kindly to Linux. Enjoy that oldie!
