T470s Sierra Wireless GNSS sensor

#1 Post by hhmcsv » Sun May 03, 2020 11:01 am

On my new (used) T470s there is a WWAN card, Sierra Wireless EM7455.
Firstly, the GNSS sensor was not visible in device manager, but after using the "add hardware" function, it the GNSS sensor does show up in device manager as working OK. But it does not seem to produce any location data.
The WWAN (mobile internet) function is working fine.
Is there any way to activate/initialize the GNSS sensor to provide location data?
Or is the EM7455 faulty?

After contact with Lenovo service I found out, that this particular T470s does not have an antenna connected to the SW7455 - so therefore no position data.

The support from Lenovo was excellent!
