Blown x230 board... how to check?

#1 Post by Krissharm » Thu Jun 18, 2020 3:34 am

Hi all

I purchased an additional power supply for my x230 it was actually a travel one (like this, but not from this seller https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lenovo-Think ... SwA2heyIYT)

But when I plugged it in, the laptop immediately powered off and has will not power on at all even just on the battery. I have tried removing the RAM, the HDD the network card and still there is no sign of life.

Is it a lost cause or is there a fuse that may have blown somewhere?

Dirty eBay trick?
It says there: No use of it now.
Which could mean: it's useless (or dead).
If it had said: No use for it now.
It could mean: still working, but not needed any longer.

Try your other charger.
Still NOT a great day for a Guinness! (the Real Black Stuff).
Ireland is on FULL lockdown until Easter 2021!
Covid-19: Stay safe, so Mask it or Casket!
