iSeries split screen - dodgy video?!

#1 Post by solidpro » Fri Jun 26, 2020 5:43 am

Hi Everyone

I've got a near-perfect iSeries 1161 but the display appears to have a fault. It's a bit wierd and my best guess is that its video adaptor related but wondering if anyone else thinks something else?

Essentially the bottom 1/5th of the screen is a replica of the top 1/5th of the screen. The top isn't missing or rolling - it's just repeated at the bottom... I've taken some pics to show:

It also keeps freezing every 2 seconds for about 0.1second. But I'm not yet sure if this is something unrelated...!

Does this happen, specifically without the graphics driver installed? Is the video cable loose, and did you try to re-seat it?

Judging by the odd '000 by 000 pixels' resolution, I am guessing that it has something to do with the graphics driver. Something is not quite right, maybe you could try installing a different LynxEM+ driver?

By the way, your images are way too big for this forum board (over 50KB). Could you please link them instead?

EDIT: The rules changed for this particular board.
