[T430s] Wifi Card options

#1 Post by Victorfy » Sun Jul 26, 2020 3:52 pm

Hi,

I have a T430s and finally went ahead with 1vyrain to remove the whitelist. Does anyone know where to check the supported wifi card without using adapters? I know ac7260 works, what about those newer ones like ac8260 and ac9260 etc.?

Any advice is appreciated!

This is where the stock wifi card is:

AC8260 and newer need an adapter, but looking at your picture, that combo will not fit in the wifi-slot.
It would fit in the WWAN-slot, but will not work there.

Thanks for the info. I went with 7260 to save the hassle. Posting through a 5G network right now :)
And I also had to cover pin 51 to use BT, not sure why but it worked like a charm!

Thanks!

I just noticed these postings for wifi caards..
I am a bit puzzled?.
I have a working T400 --without the status lights.
why are antennas required for a wifi card?. Are they to connect to a ISP mobile
operated service using a SIM chip ?. If so , where does the SIM park in the laptop.?>
