Wanted: T42pWin XP R&R Disc #6 ISO or the Expanded Folders

Hi All.

I recently discovered that my Disc # 6 ISO file of the Rescue & Recovery Set for my T42p-series was corrupt....(as of course, was the backup of the file!....Grrrrrrr!). The rest of the Recovery set (the R&R Disc itself and 6 of the 7 installation discs) are fine and those .ISO files burned properly to good discs. Only Disc #6 refused to restore properly.

Does anyone have an ISO file of that disc they would be willing to post? I can host on Dropbox, just send me an email or PM and I will send you an invite to upload.

P.S..... Yes I know I can load Win XP and then download all the drivers, but I'm trying to keep one T42 machine with Factory install.

I have an original IBM 7-CD set for R51/T42/T42p.
Type: 1829,1830,1831,1836,1840,1841 only, no 23xx mention
But it is an older set for XP-P only and dated 03/28/2004.
So no Service Packs yet although they are available separately.
Disc 6 of 7 has P/N 24R4976, FRU 24R4832.

My T42p is a 2373-KYU.

I checked the supported units of some of the machine types listed, and some have the same screen resolution (UXGA) and video chip (ATI 128 Mb Fire GL) that my 2373 supports, so I'll give it a go.

My only concern would be that when the install program requests a specific header (part number) when restoring from Disk # 5 to Disk # 6....the older disk from your set may "throw up" all over the install process!

Willing to give it a go though if you don't mind making an ISO of the disk. Hopefully it would work without resorting to upload the entire recovery set!

I have a set that I have used successfully with my T42P with a ATI FireGL T2. I believe it's an SP2 install. I have also used that set to restore a T41 with the Radeon 9000 and diagnostics etc still work fine, so they are interchangeable as long as the configuration existed in that era.

I have the files at home, but will only return in a few days so if you don't have the problem solved by then I'll gladly send them to you!

By the way, do you happen to have the ISO's for a A22M (Windows 2000/NT)?

Wow! That would be fantastic, I've been looking for them for quite a while! I was beginning to think they didn't exist

Concerning the T42P, I'll probably be able to access the files tomorrow. If Albert Romer's suggestion doesn't work (or you'd rather wait for something that's tested) post here and I will upload it somewhere.

That seems so be a personal URL to your Dropbox. To me it just sends me to my own Dropbox.

If you log in to Dropbox on a browser there should be a "Share" button to the right of the file, that returns a public link to the download.

Thanks again, you're saving me from having to try and shoehorn a T23 iso into the A22!
