T420 bluetooth with windows 10?

Hi everyone, long time, no post for me lol

So, I have a T420 updated from windows 7 to windows 10 a few years ago. Only have I just looked into whether my laptop has bluetooth capability.

I have the 60Y3271 bluetooth card and it doesn't even show up anywhere. So, me thinking it could be a dodgy module, purchased a used one from ebay for £4.49.
Now, after looking into more these last few days I am under the impression that windows doesn't in fact support said module. Am I right in thinking this?

If so, from what I have read on these forums, and other places, is my only option to have bluetooth to flash a new bios to use an intel 7260, or other similar module to get this? (I know a USB bluetooth device would work though )

Before I finish though, one more question about this. I went to buy another same spec T420 from marketplace which had windows 11. in the images of it showing the desktop, it has the bluetooth light on the bezel illuminated! Am I right in thinking this could work with windows 11 then? Or could it literally work with windows 10, and my module is just dead, so need a new one (I am waiting for the 60Y3275 to show up any day now).

Are your hotkey features integration installed? Version 3.81 is the correct one for T420. The package activates functionality of the Fn+F5 radio controls which includes enabling and disabling the ThinkPad Bluetooth card.

First link states it's for T420 too. Should I got with that?

Newer versions don’t work properly on T420 and older ThinkPads.

Just tried this and it adds on the on screen display for turning bluetooth and wireless on or off, yet does nothing for bluetooth. Maybe it is a dodgy module I have, or is it that Windows doesn't support this because it is seeing it as a dodgy thing security wise?

But also, the new volume on screen display now shows a max of 50, rather than the 100 from the still existing on screen display in the top left corner.

Might have to hunt down a thinkpad bluetooth driver for the T420 as well. T420 has BT 3.0 i think, just spitballing.

Modding in a combined WLAN+BT card with faster everything starts to seem more convenient and worthwhile for the trouble and upgrade.

I'd love to go the bios route and pop in a WLAN+BT but I'm not savvy with BIOS, and wouldn't want to brick my only laptop.

Just put in the new module I bought, and it's just the same story. Pretty sure that windows security has just said no to even 'seeing' the bluetooth module, therefore any kind of driver will not work.

One thing though, I've just checked lenovo solution centre and it gives a snapshot of my laptop from just over 6 years ago (I believe this to be before I updated to windows 10, from windows 7), and it shows

Thinkpad bluetooth with advanced data rate software
Broadcom corporation
6.2.1.3200

I now do not have this, but can't find anything of this when googling this driver?
