FS: Classic thinkpads & parts

#1 Post by wujstefan » Tue May 14, 2024 11:39 am

UPDATE: STARTING END OF SEMPTEMBER ALL SHIPPING FROM POLAND TO THE US ARE BLOCKED DUE TO NEW US CUSTOM DUTY TOLLS. THIS IS TEMPORARY UNBTIL SOME SORT OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN US AND EUROPE IS DONE, BUT UNTIL THEN - NO SHIPPING IS POSSIBLE DIRECTLY TO THE US.

Hello Thinkpadders,

I need to refresh the topic, as some health issues striked me badly I no longer have time and will to cope with the systems I have, not to mention that money is more needed than ever. I will try to update the thread in a week or two to cover all systems I have for sale (All of the X-series, 3xx, 2xx, 701CS butterfly unit...).
Note: shipping overseas from Poland is pretty cheap with starting point of $20. Please ask for details and pictures if needed :)
All the prices are negotiable - if you feel some are crazy high, unreasonable or unaffordable just let me know - I may not be aware of price changes and some price tags are there due to nostalgia factor too :)
Note that if I don't add to the topic, that PSU is included, it most likely is not :)

Complete systems for sale:

A31p - 2653-RQG
Specs according to HMM. Fantastic cosmethic condition, would grade it as 9/10 NMINT. Full working condition, BUT HDD seems to be close to its final days, and the battery is close to death too. AZERTY German heyboard with no shine. LCD bezel seems to have a crack in one place - each A31 I know has the crack in the same place. LCD is yellowish at the corners. Still, a great-looking working old piece of hardware. Can replace HDD on request. Can include the PSU too. Asking $120
SOLD

A31p - 2653-R9G LED UXGA
This is a unit I've been planning to finish for more than 10 years now. FireGL 7800, P4-2GHz, 1gig of RAM, 120Gb HDD IDE, still working sharp. W2k preloaded, but drivers missing - I will most likely find some time to finish this one. Installed a NOS Hydis UXGA in it, super bright and crispy AFFS screen, looks marvellous. Plastics in nice shape, clean keyboard, typical crack at LCD bezel. Can replace HDD on request. Can include the PSU too. Asking $350

235 -2607-10j
Another piece of classic hardware, this one has been actually restored. P2 233Mhz, 65555 Super VGA 2Mb, 96Mb of RAM, 9,2" SVGA LCD, Win98 SE installed on 4gig CF card. Great cosmethic shape, but one of the corners on the bottom base has been chipped many years ago. I am charging batteries right now, and they both seem to work properly. Asking $450

770z -2549-810
A little beat-up system, boots up but is incomplete - no battery, PSU and I think HDD as well. Will share it for low cost though Asking $25
SOLD

390X -2626-H0G
A very good looking, working unit with main battery poor but still working, 6Gb HDD is present, 512Mb of RAM and P2 400MHz CPU installed. Scandinavian keyboard with little to no glance, and - I believe - German XP installed. It has some kind of glitch with the power on slider - it needs some cleaning or greasing. Am selling this one as-is and not looking any deeper into its issues Asking $50

380XD -2635-9A0
A very clean, perfectly working (with RTC and main batteries dead), both CD and FDD drives are present, 4Gb HDD is present and still working, 64Mb of RAM and 233MHz CPU installed. German keyboard in good shape, and german W98 installed. Asking $50
SOLD

T23 - 2647-AG0
One of my favourites that has never ever been given any time. And I own it, for, like, 12 years? Very clean and tidy unit, german keyboard with no glance, no system installed (well, for some reason it has W7 installed but this need to get wiped). P3 1133MHz, 8Mb ATI GPU, 512Mb of RAM and 30Gbb HDD, 14,1" XGA LCD, battery is dead. Clean and tidy, no cracks or dents. Asking $70

Z60m 2529-FKG
Details and pictures here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=136283
Asking $80
SOLD

Z60t 2513-29G

Asking $100
SOLD

Z61M 9650-D6U

Asking $150
SOLD

T432p ^^'
T42p motherboard in T43 case. PM 745, FireGL T2 128Mb, 2Gb DDR, 15" LED AFFS UXGA, IDE-to-msata 32Gb, XP preloaded, battery is working. System in great shape, pimped I'd say. It would use some new lid though.
Asking $450

X301 2774-1TG'
U9600, 3Gb of RAM, 60Gb SSD, 1440x900pix LCD, No battery. I should have one or two somewhere out there, can't guarantee they work though.... System in good shape internally, a little bit scratched on the top. Keyboard, LCD, plastics in nice shape, the fan works flawlessly (and boy I think I've been changing that more than a couple of times!), hinges tight. As far as I recall there have been an SPD-mod made on the motherboard to get some more juice from the CPU. The mod ultimately proved pointless as the system was unstable, but the switch is there. It can be turned either way if anybody likes to work on the voltages and / or ram. I'll be wiping clean the SSD before shipping as this was my wife system :) Keyboard in nice shape, there is a 5x10cm sticker on the lid.
Asking $110

X61 7674-65G
Classic T7300, 2x2Gb from Samsung, 120Gb SSD from PNY, but... 12,1" SXGA+ IPS LCD ^^. I have never managed to get any additional led strips from Monty before a little accident that removed my soldering skills, and now I just can't do it myself nor have the time to finish it though. The system is in nice shape, some glance on the keyboard, hinges tight, screen great, cool&quiet. I was hunting for T8100+ motherboard but never gave enough heart to that. 3-cell flush battery included, was at 100% health when last recharged (late April this year), but seem to have failed. Will work on it though. Docking with DVD drive included.
Asking $350

X41 2525-C3A
PM 1.6GHz, 1Gb DDR, nice bright XGA, good shape overall with some scratches on the lid. Hinges tight, wiped 60Gb HDD seem to spin, battery (genuine) does hold a charge. Never really had time to work on this one a little bit more, so selling as-is.
Asking $75

240 2609-21U
Celeron 300MHz, MagicGraph 2Mb, 320Mb of RAM (no joke), 10,4" SVGA, 60Gb HDD, win 98 SE installed, working genuine battery. System is in beautiful shape, and makes a joy to the eye. The lid has a small pressure mark on top. Other than that- great machine. Have no clue (absolutely) how to price it, so please take the price as just-I-had-to-put-something-in-there-and-checked-some-prices-on-the-internet. Will be willing to cooperate on that one.
Asking $500

Workpad Z50
Boots and works great, even the main battery seem to charge and keep the charge. Backup batteries are dry though. 131MHz, 65555 Super VGA 2Mb, 16Mb of RAM, 8,2" DSTN, Windows CE in a very pretty shell with just some marks on the top lid. Inside it looks great. I also have no clue how much could I ask for it.
Asking $200
SOLD

X24 2662-MWG
This has been planned as my "next restoration object", but it is as it is :) P3 1133MHz (best), ATI 7200 8Mb, 640Mb SDR (max), 12,1" XGA nice and bright, 160Gb HDD (max), preloaded Win XP DE. Genuine panasonic battery from 2023 still seems strong. Docking included. German AZERTY keyboard with little to no glance. It does need some work though. Palmrest got sticky of age, same for cover hinges. Hinges themselves have some play. They keep the display in place, but I don't like the wobble itself.
Asking $180

701CS "butterfly" type 2630
My long dream of fixing this one will most likely never happen :D
Nice butterfly German QWERTZ keyboard, mechanisms working flawlessly and smoothly. The device overall is in decent shape - some scuffs here and there, right hinge plastic cover is cracked. Battery leakeage has of course occured, but did not damage the mobo. I do not have battery anymore, but I do have the plastics cover for the battery. Worst thing: screen is cracked. I do not have the time and possibility to test this one further, so selling as-is. A complete machine with a screen crack that was actually working some time ago.
Asking $200
SOLD

560z 2640-B00
A nice-looking machine, all the flaps present, some scratches all around the device. Keyboard in pretty nice shape, P2 300MHz, Neomagic 2Mb, 128Mb of RAM, 6Gb HDD, poor shape 12,1" SVGA (as far as I can see), Win 98 DE installed, STILL WORKING GENUINE BATTERY. All flaps all aroubnd the device are present, and this is not a very common thing in these systems.
Asking $110
SOLD

T30 2366-EG3
This is one good looking machine; little to no scuffs or scratches, QWERTY UK/US combo keyboard, working genuine battery, P4 1.8GHz, Radeon 7500, 1Gbb of RAM, 14,1" XGA, 80Gb HDD, W2k preloaded. So issues with RAM sockets - this was common in those systems. One of the nicest looking machines in my stable.
Asking $180
SOLD

310E 2635-9A0
Nice on externals, QWERTY UK keyboard in nice shape, P133 / 66MHz, GPU 65550 1Mb, 16Mb RAM, 11,3" SVGA in poor, washed condition, W95 installed, battery alive but very poor shape, CMOS battery dead. Plastics are in really nice shape apart from the lid, which has a crack - otherwise it looks briliant.
Asking $150

570 2644-3BG
Nice on externals, QWERTY UK/US combo keyboard in nice shape, P2 366MHz, 320Mb RAM, 13,3" XGA in good condition, W2k DE installed, battery dead. Plastics in nice shape, hinges a bit wobbly (typical for 570 unfortunately...), Dock is included - in very good shape, but the battery is missing (yest, these docks have a battery slot)
Asking $180

600 2645-4BG
I've got this one from el-sahef years ago. Fantastic shape, the system is DERUBBERIZED, so no sticky anything on the palmrest, lid, case, anywhere. The top lid has a full-size sticker. Hinges tight, great shape of the system. P2 450MHz, 512Mb of RAM, XGA display in immaculate shape, 30Gb IDE drive. W2k DE installed, DE keyboard (I do have a spare UK that I can include). Reference guide, couple of accessories, owner's handbook in German, additional palmrest (also derubberized) is in here. Dunno what to ask for this one, so I'd place a I-have-no-clue price tag. Feel free to ask, would be happy to discuss.
Asking $400

R30 - 2656-51G
Celeron 900MHz, Radeon 7500, 384Mb of RAM, 14,1" XGA, 20Gb IDE HDD. Battery seems to charge. Keyboard layout is SCANDINAVIAN. Beautiful internal plastics, nice external, would rate 8.5/10 overall. Have no time to run heavy tests, but managed to install W98 noproblem. Asking $40

X201 - 3680-DE3
i3-370m, 4gigs of RAM, 12,1" WXGA LED, 120Gb SSD HDD. 6-cell genuine battery with ~40% wear. Thinklight does not work (as it normally doesn't in most of those systems). Fair shape, some scratches and grease on the keyboard but works well. Asking $50

T530 #1
i7-3610qm, dual GPU (intel + NVS 5400m), 8gigs of ram, GENUINE BATTERY 6-cell with under 5% wear(!!!), 1600x900pix LCD with some flaws, scandinavian backlit keyboard, additional HDD tray in place of DVD burner. The system is in good condition with some scratches and a little dent to palmrest in the laft corner. 500Gb SSD, 90W charger is included. I can remodify the unit (fullHD screen, 16Gb of ram, any SSD) for some extra cost, but for this machine as-standing asking price is $100

T530 #2
i5-3210m, intel GPU, 8gigs, genuine battery 9-cell with 85% wear, FHD LCD, worn non-backlit keyboard. The system is in beaten up condition with some scratches and cracked air inlet plastics. 120Gb SSD, 65W charger is included. For this machine as-standing asking price is $50

I can accept USD, Eur and PLN :)
I do ship internationally, no problem with that. As mentioned in first sentence oversea shipping starts with $20; through Europe even less than that.

Hi, is this still available?

T42p 2373-HTG With dead T43 motherboard, SATA-modded $50

Is this a flexview model, and is the screen good? I have a 14 inch T42p with some mild screen defects, and thought about transplanting.

There are no 14" 4:3 IPS displays :) And the offered machine is 15".

Hi. I meant transplanting the motherboard and drives. I did know there were no 14inch ips displays. That could've been nice though.

Well the mobo in that one is dead, and the drive installed was SATA, so I'm not entierely sure you'd use it :)

The display is IPS though, and AFAIR in a pretty nice shape too. No guarantee on that though as I have literally 0 time to spend on those machines. Hence the price ^^.

The motherboard is SATA modded? I'm not familiar with the process. I have a motherboard from a 14inch T42p. My intent would be to take the motherboard, and an ide drive in original caddy, and put it into the one you have.

SATA-mod only for T43/R52 models.
The IDE-chip and IDE-connector were removed and a SATA-connector installed instead.

That should work just fine.

So just the motherboard is modded, which is dead?

If so I think I'll try. I should be able to put any T42p motherboard in it, there weren't different sized motherboards right?

I'll think I'll buy it.

a T42p mobo will fit inside a T43p chassis fully with a different PCMCIA cage. be it 14.1 or 15 inch
The fingerprint reader may or may not work however, depending on your specific T42p configuration.
T43 fans fit on T42p mobos and are faster RPM and cools better, at the cost of higher noise

I'm interested in the i7 T530. Can you send me some pics and an estimate of shipping cost?
