I'm really excided here. I never had such low temps on my W520!! Basically it went from 56C idle to 50C idle. From 53C idle at fan 0x40, to 45C at fan 0x40 idle.
and it only gets better...
Normal work, youtube, telegram, 65C average before, and now it's 54C.
CPU stress test ---> 96C @ 14% throttle
GPU stress test ---> 82C @ 0% throttle
Clock ---> 3090 @ 14% throttle .... that's before
Now with duronaut it is CPU stress test ---> 73C
GPU stress test ---> 64C
Clock ---> 3190
I had this laptop since 2012 and and always used to throttle at full load. This is the first time that it runs cool. If I stress everything in AIDA 64, except disks, it gets up to 80C and stays around 80C. That's just amazing!
Application was a major pain you know where, its not really thermal paste, it is somewhat liquid thermal pad, lol. But this opens up whole new possibilities for me. Imagine running OBS without throttling. I'm so excided!

Re: Duronaut thermal paste
I have come to distrust Thermal Grizzly.
Their one-time bestseller Kryonaut gives up the ghost already when it reaches 80°C only once!
All their products are greatly overpriced (at least in USA) and there are quite a few better products.
But the one to beat them all, and which is also cheaper and easier to install, is the Honeywell PTM7950 thermal pad.
My T480 with i5-8350U and iGPU (but dGPU fan) idles around 34°C, on average use is at 37-40°C and reaches max. 69°C when I stress it.

Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!

Re: Duronaut thermal paste
I recommend making a new post one year later and report the temps, whether they've improved, stayed the same, or worsened.
I haven't touched my T480s heatsink since I applied PTM7950 around three years ago. It's currently idling at 42 degrees Celsius as I'm typing this post, with an ambient of around 30 degrees Celsius and at least 60% humidity.
Planned Purchase: T480s i5-8350 FHD Touch
