x200 display problem

#1 Post by cheetoburrito » Sun Oct 23, 2011 10:21 am

I've increasingly been having display problems with my x200 for a few months now. The display replace all grey areas with yellow, there are horizontal lines across the whole screen, and when displaying certain images, it looks like an old tv with the vhold messed up, repeating 4-5 copies of the top portion of the screen.

The strange thing is that if I switch to resolution 800x600, everything looks perfect. Also, it works perfectly at a very high resolution through the VGA port.

I've tried reseating the connectors for the LCD under the keyboard and for the inverter under the bezel.

Is my video card failing? Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks!

Chris

Assuming the horizontal lines don't look like dead pixels (which I assume not, since you said they don't show up in lower resolutions) it sounds like the inverter board... GPU is unlikely since the issue doesn't translate through VGA.
