New DVD Software - Corel vs Sonic

#1 Post by tpribors » Wed Oct 26, 2011 10:53 am

I noticed this with my W510 and it is also true on the W520. The DVD burning software is now Corel with WinDVD player being branded Corel so it looks like they sold it. The burning software differences between the age-old Sonic stuff which I'd grown used to vs. the Corel is that the Corel is just clumsy in its UI. Plus it does not give control over burn speed, and it does not have a compare option. These seem to be pretty big gaps. Has anyone else used this and comment?

On the W510 I found and downloaded the entire Sonic package, but I'm not going to do it on the W520.

G'day Tp*;
umm and here I was thinkin I AM THE ONLY PERSON B*** about those things ( my calls - mikes fussy hour!) ,,,,, yip newer dont mean better/easier! the newer W520 has even more crazy 'add ons' ...... :roll: pppfffff

I am still partial to the OLD DAY where buring CD&DVD was smiple easy steps , 1, 2 3 via ROXIO BURN NOW. So I managed to stick with ROXIO PROversion - which is still simple and hardly ever priduces any COASTER for my coffee these days....:thumbs-UP:

yips.....B* hour iis over now,,,,, :Nice:

Cheers
