Thinkpad build quality

#1 Post by maindoor » Sat Oct 29, 2011 7:23 am

I live in Sydney and don't know where to demo the thinkpad.

I had a R52 which was good...but its been a long time.
It had a rubber kind of feel while using it rather than
the dell cheap plastic kind that I use at office.
Which thinkpad should I buy ? The T series or the W series.

I agree, everything about the thinkpads are better then the disposable brands like HP, Acer, Sony etc... as for the series, I like the "T" series, but I hear the W is good too.

Mind you, Dell's not bad either, especially if you spend the same money on them as on TP T's or W's

By the way, you can think of a W series as the T520p.
Same case design by the way- they didn't change it from the last-generation T510(p) either.

The first couple I had were pretty good in terms of build. The second one had a bit of creak in the palmrest though that was solved backing off the screws holding the spacer for the colour sensor in.
W520 (i7-2720M, Quadro 1000M), T41, 600E
Just say no to the ThinkBook Pro.

Orange IT store should have some ThinkPads, and Harrison Technology should also have them.

WHICH one you buy depends on your budget and requirement.

i.e. size? CPU and GPU requirement (although T520 can be optioned with quad core i7)?
Current ThinkPad: T430u, T430s, X1 Carbon, X1, X230t, X220t, X230, X220, X201t, W520, W701ds, T500, T420 and many more
