password on rescue and recovery

#1 Post by woofermusic » Sat Oct 29, 2011 7:39 pm

Hi, I am trying to run the rescue and recovery on my T60p.
I get to the Password window and am asked for a Windows Password.
I dont think I ever set one, and if I did I have put in what I use for this sort of password.
There is an option for "I forgot my password" but this just says you have no recovery questions configured.
And then tells me to configure them.
There is no way I can see to do this.
I am being told by Thinkpad owning friends that I will need a new mother board.
Any tips would be gladly recived.

Are you sure you get a Windows password?
Check this out: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail. ... MIGR-59377
If you get one of these and can't get any further, contact Nick at www.reflowrepairs.co.uk (Newcastle).
You won't need a new mobo.

You can turn off the request for a Windows password in Client Security Solution's Policy Manager. You will need administrator's privileges to do it.
