T61 SSD Upgrade Intel 320 120GB vs. Crucial M4 128GB
Basically the same price. Want to hear from people the pros and cons of each for a T61. Low power is important as well as reliability. I've read some reviews online and the 320 seems to be so so with some failures. The M4 has been getting great reviews. Again want to hear what users who have installed these drives think.

I have the Intel 320 in an T60 with win7: fresh install, no problems, delightfully fast.
I tend to choose the device with the longest company warranty, that is 5 years for the 320, IF you buy the retail box.

Hint: Use the search function of this forum or use the forum.thinkpads.com search script by forum moderator HarryC before you ask questions... as this will (often) give you most often point you to related questions and answers already asked like e.g, in the thread Intel 320 120GB vs. Crucial M4 128GB. Owners?

I believe your post would gain significantly in value, and would be of (far!) more interest to users of this forum, if you cared to share this information which you make reference to here. *SHARING* information between users in my opinion is actually the keyword on this forum - this goes for everybody!Bánh mì wrote:I've read some reviews online and the 320 seems to be so so with some failures. I have a M4 in my T60p, it serves me well enough at SATA I speed. So if you've got the SATA II unlocked on your T61 I can only imagine nothing less than a total satisfaction.
