Hi,
I recently purchased an Advanced Mini Dock to my T60 (2007-7KG) having the Mobility Radeon X1400 GPU in it.
I would like to know if anyone successfully used this configuration to drive a monitor with 2560x1440 resolution (via the DVI-D port on the docking station, of course).
The docking station was reported to be able to support it with a T61p.
Question is, would the T60 be able to support it?
When I check the available resolutions in display settings, only modes up to 2048x1536 are displayed in the list, but I do not have a DVI-D cable or a monitor capable of supporting that resolution connected to the docking station.
Has anyone successfully used this resolution with a T60? Would anyone be able to try it?
Depending on this I would either buy a monitor able to support that resolution or one which is only 1920x1200.
Thanks and best regards,
Robert Varga

I am pretty sure it can, esp. since it is listed as supported on the T61. The dock is a simple pass through for the signal, if it has Dual-link DVI pins, it will work, provided that the GPU can output this resolution (and I see no reason why it would not be able to).
I will try to come by a high-resolution monitor to test it on. In the meanwhile, I am pretty sure there exist other members here who may have gotten it to work and can testify.

According to specs: http://support.lenovo.com/en_CY/product ... -62722#vid
the T60 cannot display higher than 2048x1536 on an external monitor.

Thanks for trying but let me emphasize that this is a T60 and not a T61. The dock does indeed have a DVI-D dual link port. Unfortunately I cannot verify if the GPU can output this resolution, as the ATI/AMD webpage does not list the known video modes / resolutions.dr_st wrote:I am pretty sure it can, esp. since it is listed as supported on the T61. The only information in this matter is that the GPU has two 400MHZ DACs according to the ATI/AMD spec sheet:
"- Dual integrated dual-link DVI transmitters
- Dual integrated 10 bit per channel 400 MHz DACs"
Thanks and best regards,
Robert

According to the similar sheet for the T61 ( http://support.lenovo.com/en_CY/product ... D=PD008989 ), the T61 cannot display it either, and it has been confirmed at other places to be able drive 2560x1440, so I would take the spec sheet with a grain of salt. The spec sheets for the T6x series has been a long standing source of confusion for what the actual display capabilities for each notebook are.RealBlackStuff wrote:According to specs: http://support.lenovo.com/en_CY/product ... -62722#vid

Regardless of these, thanks for your answer.
