in my dell desktop LCD its possible to change the color temperature of the screen from 6500K (a little red) to 9300K (more bluish and relaxing on the eyes). is this feature possible on my T40? is there any aftermarket software that will let me do this?

You need to calibrate first. And load the IBM monitor profile in the configuration.

Load a reference file and adjust.

you might want to borrow an LCD calibration scanner for professional graphics reference.
