Hi all,
I am using my T520 with two HDD, one for work in its standard slot and one for private in the Ultra Bay.
Now, everything works fine except when closing the lid using the UB-hdd. I have set Windows 7 Prof to hibernate and resume when closing the lid, which worked fine on my former T60. Now with the T520, everytime I do this there is an error after reopening the lid again, stating that the Harddisk Toshiba xxx could not bei safely removed because of it being in use.
Any ideas on how to adress this? I could change it to shutting down instead of hibernating, but then the system restart takes much longer.....
thanks,
Terry

Re: T520 4242Y11: HDD in Ultrabay cannot be removed
Hi, i've had similar issue with HDD inside T520 ultrabay (problems with hot swapping) but installing updated drivers for Intel Rapid Storage Technology and Intel Chipset solved my problems. If you still experience those errors after driver updates, you can use "safe remove" option on your ultrabay HDD before hibernating, or use only sleep option with your thinkpad - fastest and everything works fine in terms of ultrabay.
