Yesterday I received a call from someone in India claiming to represent Microsoft technical support. He said I had a problem with my computer and he would help me to fix it. I sent him away with a flea in his ear.
Today I noticed this on the BBC's technology website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15690898
It is worth making a note of this scam and warn your family and friends. Someone my wife knows was taken in by it a while ago.
