X61 going into standby without warning when on AC

#1 Post by carrausse » Mon Nov 14, 2011 7:24 am

[Mod edit: Moved from Power manager, disable "non genuine" battery warning? thread, and retitled to clarify question.]

Hi guys,

Very interesting post indeed as I have exactly the same problem with a irritating pop up because I use a non genuine battery.

However I have an extra problem: my laptop goes into stand-by without warning although it runs on AC and the battery seems well charged.

I don't have the problem when I run on AC only with the battery removed from the slot.

I wonder if the problem is only due to battery chip or due to overheating inside the laptop.

Any thoughts on how to debunk this problem?

Cheers,

Alex

First thing to check is if your power manager settings are telling it to do that. On many default power settings, it is normal for a laptop to go into standby when not in use for a certain length of time, even when plugged in.
