Re: Winsock refresh
Could the thread T42P Wireless Stopped Working - can't aquire network address and especially this post perhaps be of help? There's are a whole bunch of posts discussing this fix...
Hint: "Winsock reset" in stead of "Winsock refresh"!

Re: Winsock refresh
" Run the command: netsh winsock reset "
Thanks lots. This has worked for me frequently as a temporary fix
and sometimes as a permanent one. Going to chisel it onto the wall .
'winsock' reminds me of the horrors of getting online with Win3.1
Cheers

Re: Winsock refresh
Just a quick note on my recent netsh winsock reset experience -- last month I couldn't access iTunes store, and after much googling, I found the command prompt info regarding winsock reset -- it worked -- I was happy --
Now last weekend again, my computers would not access iTunes store -- used the elevated command prompt again, but without success -- after lots more frustration/googling/etc. I was left with no iTunes store access --
I finally decided to first boot my computer, then do elevated command prompt for winsock reset, then reboot -- finally success --
I havn't a clue why the command prompt and reboot worked last month, but this time only a fresh boot/ command prompt reset/ and reboot worked -- just wanted to put that info out there in case anyone else runs into this issue with the command prompt winsock reset --
Whatever is going on with my iTunes store issue, when one of my Thinkpads won't connect to the store, none will -- makes me think it may have something to do with my wireless router, but not sure
