Newest Power Manager problems

#1 Post by wujstefan » Sat Nov 26, 2011 4:03 am

Hello,
I have reinstalled the system on a couple of T43's of mine recently, and have observed a couple of problems in EVERY of them.

First of all, rundll32 cannot start it until registry clean. Registry cleaning is also temporary solution, as about 2-3 shutdowns later the problem gets back, and is indicated as 100% CPU usage.

Second one is core frequency set in Power Manager. When set to "lowest" core is ALWAYS 0.33GHz (on PM750), "low" gives also ALWAYS 0.33GHz, Adaptive gets the core working in speedstep mode up to 0.8GHz (even when on cable!), and setting it to Maximmum makes it work on 1,86GHz on cable and 0.8GHz on battery, with no core speedstepping!

Everything installed first by update manager, then reinstalled manually from the lenovo's site. Anyone have faced anything like that?

Toss it and use NHC instead? Can be found at http://www.pbus-167.com/

I use it for speedstepping, undervolting, fan control (and GPU downclocking). Great tool!

Why should I lose it?
I will dl NHC anyway and see if it fits my needs (and what it can make), but why shouldn't the PM work well?

NHC displays:
Voltage
Capacity
Full capacity
Type
Manufacturer
Wear level

And of course current charge level. I does however not display load cycles.
