X220 + Mini Dock Plus Series 3 // Vent blocked?

#1 Post by hyde » Fri Dec 02, 2011 12:05 am

I just received my dock today, it looks like a piece of beautiful art, I love the ports and it is much smaller than I thought, does not increase the foot print like I thought it would, anyway-- I noticed that eject/lock mechanism housing sits right in front of the heat vent on the top left corner behind Esc key.

Has anyone been using their dock for a long time? Have you seen any overheating problems? I can tell that the fan spins faster for sure because I can hear it, but I am not sure if it is because of the vent being blocked or because of the power profile..
