Video Cables
What are the best cables to use for any PC / Game Console and hooking up to a HDTV?
I own the old 90s Game Systems up to the PS3/360/Wii-1
Of course im using an HDMI cable on my 360/PS3 as they have them, the Port next to the basic AV.
What is the next best to use VS HDMI, as my older systems don't have that port. I have: AV - "Yellow, White, Red" S-Video Port, DVI Port, Component - "Red, Blue, Green, White", VGA Port and HDMI. All the older systems come basic with the AV "Yellow, White, Red" cable.

Re: Video Cables
I would say in order of quality (and this is just an estimate)
HDMI>DVI>VGA
I leave AV out because that depends way to much on the system. Also AV is really uncommon for computers.

Re: Video Cables
Since older Game systems only had AV, If I buy a converter box that goes from AV to Component or HDMI, will the LCD display the video better?

Re: Video Cables
You cannot increase the quality of the signal, only degrade it. If your TV has enough AV inputs, just use them for the consoles.
HDMI and DVI are the same thing up to 1080p, and the same quality. Except that most DVI implementations lack audio.

Re: Video Cables
Will plugging in AV "Yellow, White, Red" into a HDMI adapter and HDMI out to TV, make it display in HDMI High quality?

Re: Video Cables
From what I understand the answer is NO. An HDMI cable transfers the digital signal. The analogue cables don't. (I may be wrong of course.)

Re: Video Cables
For my PlayStation 2 I have the Original AV cables and the Componet cables "Both SONY Brand" and when it shows the PlayStation 2 logo you see the Reserved logo R is fuzzy for AV and you can really see the R when under Compnet. So I'll look for that. Playing on my desktop PC with the built in AV graber, the graphics look sharp and can see the R clear. So not sure
