T20 Woes

Hey guys,

My T20 has suddenly decided to fail on me. When I switched it on the other day it booted straight into the BIOS and asked me to change my time and date settings, which I did. Upon rebooting it asked for the same thing, and after having a browse on the web I was advised to replace the CMOS battery which I've done.

With that problem fixed I then discovered that it no longer boots without being plugged into the wall. When I press the power button the green processor light flickers quickly and nothing happens, but when i plug the charger in it boots up perfectly fine. Am I right in thinking that I need a new battery? I really don't want to give up on this thing

I does sound like the battery is shot. Have you checked in Power Manager to see the health of the battery? After booting, if you disconnect the a/c charger, does it stay running at all or does it just power off?

Good idea, ill check the power manager. And yep it runs for no longer than 2 minutes when i pull the cord out.

I just checked the power manager and it says No battery is installed =/

Stupid power manager, can't it see the battery is plugged in ???

Sort of like my HDD problem with a T23. It won't recognize several HDDs that other machines can see and use.

But that's another story!!!
