lcd display replace

#1 Post by galaxy20 » Tue Dec 06, 2011 8:59 am

I broken LCD matrix in my ThinkPad R61 (14,1 inch WXGA 1280 x 800). Can I simply replace it to WXGA+ 1440 x 900 or I must stay with WXGA one ?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

You can replace it with any 14.1 widescreen LCD from any Z60t, Z61t, T61, R61 or any CCFL T400 or R400.

You can reuse your inverter and cable.

You can also swap the entire LCD assembly from any R61 or T61 (14" widescreen), including those with internal webcams and Bluetooth. If you didn't have those features before, you just update the drivers after installation.

Good luck.

P.S. In the event you'd like to stick with your resolution, I have an entire R61 WXGA LCD assembly w/Bluetooth for sale here --> http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=100597
