Here are some pics taken by my blackberry so excuse the poor quality:
There is some wear and tear about this X200. Full disclosure details are:
• Express card flap/cover came off. I attempted in putting it back in the X200 but a tiny piece that secures the flap/cover in place broke off the flap/cover
• older fan had begun to make noises while in my possession so I bought a genuine Lenovo replacement and installed it; also put a thin layer of arctic silver 5 on CPU; temps measured now are at in the middle to upper thirties
• the fingerprint reader has a broken connector; It cracked when I was reconnecting it which then lead to it coming apart; the motherboard is fine it is just the connector on the FPR cable that is cracked; X200 is running fine w/o it; I’ve put electrical tape on the FPR cable as a temp fix; you would need a replacement palm rest w/FPR to get the FPR to work again; never used it anyway and disabled it in BIOS
• installed an aftermarket webcam in this recently as it originally came without one; webcam did not come with screws so I had to use one LCD chassis screw as a temp fix; had to move one antenna over; antenna wires are a little frayed in spots so electrical tape is the temp solution ; webcam works fine also with Fn+F6
• while the PVA screen is nice it creates a buzz from the LCD inverter at certain levels of brightness; I’ve found that Windows creates less buzz than Linux for some reason; also has tiny scratches which are not too bad but are there nonetheless
• Thinklight is out; it was off and on whenever I moved the bezel around the Thinklight when I first received the X200; now it is out; cable for the Thinklight includes the camera cable; the camera is functional which leads me to believe it is the connection after the camera and Thinklight split
• may have to adjust the bezel around the bottom of screen and battery area; seems to need it as it will make a noise when the laptop is moved occasionally; I have not had a chance to do this yet
• Tiny hairline crack shown here in this photo. Not sure how it got there but I discovered it one day as I was putting an SD card in the card reader
The pros about this X200:
• superior viewing angles over the standard screens that usually came with Thinkpads from the X200 timeline; may seem a little dim compared to LED screens but when comparing to friends Dells or Toshibas the viewing angle and black levels of this X200 look better
• Portability is excellent and always a plus
• 9 cell Panasonic battery is good; lasts about 5 hours doing office work and light internet browsing; about 3 hours for video watching; Battery manager shows 73.77 Wh capacity charge; Cycle count 200
• 6 cell battery is pretty feeble compared to 9-cell but nonetheless works for about 3 hours with light office work and browser activity; about 2 hours or slightly less with video viewing; regardless you get two batteries
• pretty responsive for a tiny laptop; faster than the R60 I have even when the X200 is on battery
• keyboard- no faded letters
• upgraded from no integrated camera to installed integrated camera
• 2gb RAM to 4gb RAM (a must for W7 64-bit)
• Case is in very good condition; no deep scratches or blemishes
• USB ports are all fine and function properly
• Expresscard works fine when tested with Expresscard SDHC adapter
So that's it. I did not baby nor did I treat this X200 horrendous either. I have W7 and Ubuntu 10.4 LTS as my OS' and they both work very well.
I would like to sell this for $220 + shipping. Shipping will be done through whichever shipping carrier the buyer prefers. Insurance will be added also. PayPal preferred.
