T42 Stop Error 0x000000F4: Help, please!

#1 Post by MikeW » Thu Dec 08, 2011 7:53 pm

Hello everyone,

I have this nice T42 ThinkPad that I've fixed up for my grandma, but it keeps getting the BSOD, and the error its saying is 0x000000F4.

If someone could please help me out with this problem, and tell me how this can be fixed, I would appreciate it so much!

Thanks for looking,
Mike

From a quick search of the forum, stop error 0x000000F4 seems to be related to the Active Protection System (APS). It's the thing that is supposed to protect your hard drive heads from crashing on the disk platter(s) when the system thinks it's about to receive a physical shock. You could try disabling this feature and see if it helps.
