Please help: T61 running Snow Leopard - No DVI

#1 Post by Dysan911 » Tue Dec 13, 2011 5:57 pm

Hi folks, I have a Lenovo T61. It's model 7661 A12. I have everything working flawlessly on it with OSX 10.6.3. I wanted to switch over to using it with my external monitor on a more permanent basis so I docked it in the Advanced Docking station and attached everything up. I have my wife's system shared with the KB and Mouse via a DVI KVM switch. The T61 OSX boots fine but the moment the desktop would be displayed it goes black and the monitor detects standby and turns amber.

When I do an "About this Mac". My T61 identifies itself as a Macbook Pro. I'm not sure if there lies the problem.. MB Pro's don't have DVI's thus it wont' support it?

I thought the Dock would just be pass-through for the video.

Does anyone know if there is a simple fix for this. Something I need to edit in order to get the DVI port on the dock to pass the video through or will this be much more complicated?

Thank you for your time!
