Nice G40 Surprise

#1 Post by rossmosis » Thu Dec 15, 2011 3:50 pm

Bought this G40 off Craigslist for $10 over the summer with absolutely nothing missing or wrong with it (1.5gb RAM, 80gb HDD, wifi), put it away for awhile since I was busy with school and other things. The other day I decided to put Windows 2k just for nostalgia's sake and updated all the drivers. When I got it the resolution was set at the standard 1024x768 in XP and when I downloaded the video driver yesterday I found out it was 1400x1050! Guess I never really played around with it very much, but I'm definitely planning on using it a lot now! The screen is beautiful, a little darkening on the bottom corners, but there's so much more real estate on this than any of my other computers.

Beautiful! It's been three or four years since I passed my G41 on to a neighbor, but I remember what a gorgeous tank of a machine it was. It was the perfect desktop replacement -- enjoy :)

EDIT: I forgot to add that I had upgraded from XP and had Vista running very nicely on that G41 when Vista was a new OS.
