WTB: 15" UXGA screen for T60

#1 Post by Patrik28 » Mon Dec 19, 2011 7:58 am

Hi,

I'm looking for a 15" 1600x1200 UXGA panel (FRU: 13N7076) for T60-series. Preferably new or little used.

Please, offers by PM, or e1000970@edu.vamk.fi

ps. Shipping to Europe/Finland must be possible.

Old announcement
I'm looking for a good condition T60p model, with 4:3 screen, preferably with 15" 1600x1200 IPS panel. The CPU could be T7200-7600 type and system memory 2GB.

The machine will be used for CAD/CAM exercices in a polytechnic, that's why high-end models are in priority.
However, all reasonably priced offers (except widescreens) will be noticed.

Shipping to Finland must be possible. Please, offer with pictures, and with detail machine information (report also if e.g. dead pixels, or smaller faults etc). Faults or missing/broken components in the notebook are not necessary an obstacle, if the offer + estimated spare parts price is competitive.

Edit. Found and bought one 15" T60p from eBay...

I have one that meats your requirements listed in the marketplace. It's a high-end T60p, with T7600 (2.33ghz), has 2GB ram, ATI fireGL 5250 and 15" flexview. I can up it to 3GB if you like. It has some minor blemishes but for it's age, it's in nice condition. There are two barely noticeable pressure marks that are photographed and only noticeable on white background, and even then faint.

$210 (usd) Shipping and any transfer fees are not included.

If it doesn't sell today, it's going back to my supplier, so I'd need to know asap if your interested.

Monthly lifting...

And some specifying:
Because the spare 1600x1200 IPS panels will cost $150 and more, the total costs will be $600+, to buy & upgrade from a 15" 1400x1050 T60p (including shipping, taxes and prices).
I have decided to abandon that panel-upgrade plannings. I just can't afford that much from a tight student budget and concerning that the machine is already old and used.

So, I'm looking now for a 14" T60p (1400x1050). If the selection would be better there.
Of course the 15" T60p will be option too, but only with 1600x1200 panel ready.

I'm not sure how you come up with $600, the one I offered you last month would have been 210, plus if you absolutely need the uxga screen, you quoted 150, that comes to 360, not 600.

It's no longer available, but I can get you a complete one with a really nice screen for $300, or I'd consider selling it without the screen if you want to replace it anyway.

I'm also curious why 1400x1050 is ok in 14" but not in 15"

You didn't noticed the additional costs:
Shipping is roughly 50 + 50 (if ordered separately). And then VAT is 23%.
So, 150 + 50 + 46 (for the panel) and 210 + 50 + 60 (for the computer). Total $570. What I have not calculated, is the scandinavian-keyboard, but that is rather small invest (~50).
Well, I just throwed the numbers, but the total sum is around 500-600, in worst case.
It might be wrong to think additional costs straight, but they comes on the plain computer or part price.

14 inch models seems to be more common (and lower priced). It is basically same thing for me if the resolution is equal. So I rather choose smaller overall size then. I have had only 1400x1050 TN-panels (happy with these), and 1400x1050 IPS probably won't make that big difference.
I'd really like to build a 1600x1200 machine, but the new spare panels are priced crazy. And I have read, that the used panels do have ageing effects.

ps. Your machine was without shipping cost too.

There have been some uxga machines posted here recently, but getting the best screen, best processor, and best condition all in one system isn't going to be easy.

Good luck though, and if you decide you want a sxga 15" with IPS, let me know.

ps. regarding shipping, it depends on the location, but most international shipments for a computer shipped air with insurance are about $50.
