I’m a former member of the British armed forces and not a genius Nick, perhaps you’d like to elaborate, for the benefit of people like me?

Well naturally not singing....

Apologies Stan, no offence meant. My Grandfather was a Royal Navy captain in the 2nd World war and was torpedoed 3 times and survived, and my Uncle a Rear Admiral so the Navy is in our blood.

Also I was a Radio Officer in the Merchant Navy (ahh the days or morse code!) and always felt that little bit safer when we dipped the ensign to a British naval vessel in some foreign port.

I know I speak for all of us here in wishing the armed forces all the very best at this time of the year and to offer them our whole hearted thanks for the difficult and dangerours work they do on our behalf.

Nick,

Forgive my migraine induced, misplaced comment.

Eyes and head tend to be less functional under such circumstances.

I’ll echo your support for those away from home due to the constraints of duty, and also to those who will be standing sentinel over the rest of us closer to home.

We know who they are; they don’t get Christmas day off.

All the best, not only for the season,

Stan.

Migranes are the pits - I'm lucky in that only my eyesight is affected and I don't get the awful headaches like my mum does.

Take care Stan and best wishes to too.
