R51 ATI (wife killed another)

#1 Post by jronald » Wed Dec 21, 2011 8:26 pm

OK, believe it or not, my wife succeeded in killing another R51. Factory keyboard no longer works, swapped it for a good one, it will do nothing. Touch pad is likewise inop. USB mouse is fine Suggestion?

How is she killing the computer?

If it is something like spilling coffee on the keyboard, you will not be able to do anything about that. Only using some of the heavy duty computers designed with a waterproof keyboard would work in those situations.

Is the hard drive damaged? Moving and banging a computer with the hard drive running is risking a head crash. I am amazed how much abuse people give to a running hard drive and the drive still works.

Southbridge, most likely.
There is a long running joke with my wife and computers. If you give her one, it will quit!
