i need a miracle t42

ok i feel bad i often ask for help and im not able to offer any back...well here goes the new dilemma...i installed a wireless card that was NOT ibm, i didnt know at the time...well i used the "no1802" fix and everything was fine....i had to reformat and when i did i could not get the non ibm wireless to get recognized..so i used a mototola card...i let it be til i was able to have enuff time to install a new IBM wireless card... installed it today and the same thing its not recognized...by the way i tried the 1802 fix after the reformat and it didnt help recognizing the non IBM card.....is there a way to get recognized? i cant find the bg 2200 anywhere...merry christmas and most of all a healthy new year to all thanks, jeff

I'm sure that if you posted a WTB (want to buy) ad in the forum's marketplace, someone would come to the rescue with a proper card...

i installed an ibm/intel 2200bg 27k9932 card today...i believe that number would the right one? maybe i installed the wrong one? thanks, jeff

That should be fine...is the wireless enabled in BIOS?

Any yellow question marks in the Device Manager?

Network controller is your wireless card, driver can be found here:

http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc ... wc05ww.zip

Follow the instructions on the download page and you should be OK.

After you've downloaded the driver, you might have to go into C>Drivers>Win>Wlanint and run the setup file from there.

i downloaded that file but i nevr got a chance to run the setup where is c>drivers>win>wlaint thanks again...

C is your hard drive, double-click to open it...then follow the folders...

To enter BIOS, press F1 on boot, although you don't need that right now.

thank you i found the set up prigran deep inside the hidden files of windows...i now have the green wifi light on bottom of screen...im assuming im good to go...thank you and have a healthy meery holiday much thanks, jeff

well i have the bg wireless in the device manager and it reads working properly... the green indicator light is working... balloon says detected wireless but it wont connect to router says acquiring network address sheesh....do i need thinkpad access? thanks jeff

Try using the Intel wireless utility that comes with the driver, I believe it's called PROSET...

yea all is well i installed thinkpad access connections and that did the trick....thank you for your help, could'nt have done it without you guys...happy holidays one and all sincerely jeff
