Thinkpad T42 2373 fan replacement

Hi All
I am struggling to find the replacement cooling fan part number. I have checked on the IBM site but I can't be sure which is the right one because they have so many different 2373 options.
Underneath my laptop it has Type 2373 - R10 S/N99.
I'd be grateful if anyone can help me out - and also tell me the best place to buy it from.

Welcome to the forum!

Your machine has ATi 7500 GPU and requires a "short" fan.

Try eBay or post a WTB (want to buy) ad in the forum's Marketplace.

I have read that a long fan is more effective - would it fit my model? And if so, would part no.13R2657 or 41W5204 be the right one?

Your motherboard was not meant to utilize the long fan, and while it would fit, I'd stick with a short one.
