Is this base cover ok to my X200s?

Hi all,

At http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Lenovo-Thin ... 48422d9284 there is a base cover for X200s for sale.

I was wondering if that will fit to my X200s (7469-5KG).

By looking at "System service parts - ThinkPad X200, X200s, X200si, X201, X201i, X201s" document at http://support.lenovo.com/en_ID/product ... MIGR-70510 I see that there are many different FRUs for base cover assembly.

Are there real mechanical differences or just differences in stickers (or such)?

X200s base cover's fan area is flat, whereas the X200 base cover fan area has a slight bulge. From the picture it looks it is the base for the X200s.

Thanks for information.

Now that I know the part fits the only problem that remains is that the operation itself (exchanging base cover) will be quite painful. Basically you'll have to disassemble the unit completely.

yeap can be a little tricky, i was going to upgrade my X200 to a X201 motherboard that my friend gave me.

But it is doable if you follow the Hardware Maintenance Manual.

Note: Make certain that the wireless on/off switch on the side of the motherboard is aligned properly when seating the motherboard into the base. It is easy to break/damage that switch if the lever is not aligned with the slider in the base.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for bringing this old topic up, but it matches my question perfectly.
Basically a friend of mine dropped his X200s on the floor and the base cover is broken in the corner. We are seeking on ebay but there is no X200s cover available and there are a few X200 so we consider buying an X200 base cover. The question is - will it fit to X200s? I found on lenovo website that there are multiple versions of the base cover to X200s - do they really differ physically? His X200s is 7470-VDG

Yes it works. I did it a while ago since I had a the same issue regarding the availability of the "s" base covers.
