Accessing the EISA utilities partition

#1 Post by marioc89 » Sat Dec 31, 2011 9:26 am

Hi everybody! I'm new to this forum hoping to get some answers and solutions for my IBM R52 thinkpad. I just recently been infected with the nasty xp anitvirus 2010 virus and I had no choice but to reinstall the os. Without thinking, I installed a recovery disc from Dell on my laptop thinking it was my recovery disc, but thats a nother story. But anyway, I as I was installing the os, I noticed a partition marked 'partition2 (EISA Utilities)' with 4061 MB. I was wondering was that my recovery partition and since I've already installed the os on there, which I want to take off, can I still install my original setup on my laptop and how can I access that partition to do it? Thank you guys!

When you start the machine, immediately press the blue Access button.
This should start the recovery procedure, provided of course that you have such data (in that EISA prtn).
You can also try F11 if Access does not work.
If both don't work, you'll need to reinstall your OS from scratch.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
