Thinkpad turns off Bluetooth after standby or restart

#1 Post by jayton4 » Mon Jan 02, 2012 7:47 am

I had some weird behavior happening every now and then that I just found the solution to and thought I would share in case others are experiencing the same problem.

I use a Bluetooth mouse, and I like to have the Bluetooth radio turned on at all times. For some strange reason, a couple of weeks ago my T410 would turn the Bluetooth off every time I woke the computer out of standby. It is very annoying to have to go turn it on every time under Manage Wireless Radio. I tried switching every setting I could find, and finally found that resetting the BIOS settings to defaults would fix the problem. Now the Bluetooth radio stays on when coming out of standby.

Then it happened again a week later, it started doing the same behavior again with turning off Bluetooth. Reset the BIOS and all was good again.

It took about 3 times before I finally realized what was causing all of this. I have Ubuntu that I occasionally run live from a USB flash drive. If I boot into Ubuntu from the flash drive, my system no longer keeps Bluetooth on in Windows after standby.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be occurring?

Thanks,

It would be a RTC problem? I encountered such problem when I installed MAC OSX LION. After patch RTC, such problem was removed.
