HELP PLEASE...T43 power problems

i have a T43 and i havent gotten it to power on at all

when i plug in the AC adapter, the battery indicator light blinks 8 times and stays lit on the eight time and then i push the power button and the battery indicator light goes off and nothing else ever happens...nothing on display..no beeps..nothing..it doesnt even get to the POST point

can someone here help me out?...

Take the battery out, then try to start just on AC.
A bad battery can cause all sorts of havoc.

tried that...still nothing

Take all the RAM out and try then. If you don't get the "no RAM" beeps, then the motherboard is dead.

ok...took RAM out and tried to turn on and nothing....no beeps

so i should look for a board huh?

anyone have a detailed (maybe .pdf file) drawing on taking the laptop apart correctly

i can probably get a little ways into it...have taken older T'pads apart..but not any newer ones
