W520 software,Corel Movie Factory,and Windows dvd maker

I Have issues with corel movie factory and win.dvd maker (come preinstalled on my thinkpad w520 win 7 64 bit).When it starts creating dvd in movie factory i get an error saying it is no longer working.I reinstalled and same thing.With dvd maker it gets to where it starts to burn and it stops and says there was an error.I reformatted yesterday and dvd maker is working but movie factory is not.
How can i fix this junk,and is there a download for dvd maker? Is there a free and better dvd burning software that allows me to add minues without usig the junk that is preloaded?Movie factory is lenovo installed.
