This is the fastest computer that I have ever owned. The only way I could get it faster is to upgrade the RAM and Hard Drive to an SSD. But that requires money and I have bills. Currently with 4GB of RAM and the 7,200RPM HD my system is nice and responsive. Heck I usually have 1 or 2 virtual machines running, VLC with music, Firefox with a few tabs open and internet explorer with a few tabs open. With how snappy everything is, you'd figure I was just running notepad.

Re: What is your Windows-7 ***WEI-SCORE***?
My new to me X301... with Win 7 Pro 64 bit...
Processor(SU9600,C2D 1.6Ghz,3meg cache) --- 4.8
Memory (8GB Kingston hyperX kit DDR3) --------------- 4.9
Graphics (Intel 4 Series ) --------------------- 4.1
Gaming Graphics ------------------------------ 3.4
Hard Disk (Toshiba 250Gig 5400RPM 1.8")------- 4.9
I'm happy with it for a nice all around small laptop.
The 1440x900 rez in 13.3 screen is just about the perfect size.
The CPU could be little faster, but not bad at all.
A nice SSD i think will boost the system nicely.
But for a 150.00 mint shape X301 , its not bad.
UPDATE:
Just ran the test again after i installed a Samgsung PM800 128GB 1.8" SSD , with Lenovo FRU#45n7953.
Updated firmware to support TRIM.
The new Hard Disk number went upto --------7.5
Not the fastest SSD but in this X301 it feels like a new system.

Re: What is your Windows-7 ***WEI-SCORE***?
I saw that scores for the X60 and X60T had been added, but I thought I'd help you round out your list.
X60s:
Processor: 4.1 (Core Duo L2400 1.66GHz)
Memory: 4.7 (3GB DDR2 PC2-5300)
Graphics: 3.1 (Intel GMA 950)
Gaming Graphics: 3.1
Hard disk: 4.2 (100GB Toshiba 5,400RPM)
Interesting to see the slight discrepancies between the three, mainly the differences between the standard and low voltage Core Duos.

Wondering why my desktop graphics is so slow? I'm guessing JeffCullen has the 15" 256Mb Quadro FX570 graphics chip but this wouldn't explain why Racerboy's 128Mb FX570M system is so much fater than mine (???)

Search this board for a better Win7 driver for the ATI7500 graphics chipset (there is one but I forget which one it is). Won't improve the score damatically but will help some.

My X220's scores:
CPU (i5 2520M) 7.1
RAM (8 GB) 7.4
Graphics (Intel HD 3000) 5.9
Gaming Graphics 6.3
Hard disk (320GB HDD) 5.9
Pretty impressed...obligatory bump up of hard disk to come when I eventually get myself a SSD.
I can't recall the scores for my HP dv7...will boot it up and post them for comparison.

@KristianJ
After seeing your score, I see I need to increase my RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB. Just ordered an identical 4 GB RAM module on Ebay to supplant my existing 4 GB RAM module.

It's nice to be back. Doing well in the midst of general life busyness...and glad to have picked the X220 as the means of returning to TP usage.
I've got the SSD upgrade planned for this weekend - after that's all done I think I'll be as satisfied as I can be with my non-IPS machine.

Re-ran my WEI score after the RAM upgrade from 4GB to 8GB. I had a 4GB module and added a second identical one (same manufacturer: Elpida, same part number: EBJ41UF8BCS0-DJ-F). Base score went from 4.7 to 5.9!

^^^^^^^
The jump in (integrated) graphics score from 1st to 2nd generation Core is pretty impressive by WEI standards.
My T410 gets 4.6 in the Aero column, and 5.3 in gaming graphics - that's with an i5 520 CPU.
The rest is close enough: CPU and RAM both at 6.8, and a SSD (Intel 730) at 7.7
